What's the Word?

Here’s what’s going on at Eenie Meenie! First of all, Irving is the word and the word is Irving: a whopping 300 people showed up at their show last night (5/10) at New York’s Knitting Factory, where they rounded out an inspired lineup with Beirut and Group Sounds. At our own sweet lil’ Spaceland this past Sunday, the boys cleaned up pretty well with some help from the delightful Essex Green and The Minor Canon. Plowing full speed ahead, they are now returning to L.A. in time to play for Nic Harcourt on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic on Wednesday, 5/17 at 11am, and then for an 18+ (hooray!) show at The Echo on Friday, 5/19. This show is presented by KCRW and will be with Kelley Stoltz, The Little Ones, and Kind Hearts & Coronets, so if you missed them at Spaceland, (or you just can’t drink yet and for that, we ARE sorry), make sure you high-tail it to The Echo next Friday.

In case that isn’t enough Irving for you, the guys’ interview on MTV2’s Subterraneanon air on 5/21 at 1am, so don’t miss it! The band will also be on Fearless TV, so we will keep you posted on the airtime for that one. Please don’t forget to request them on Indie 103.1 as well! They are playing “Jen, Nothing Matters To You” and we are eating it up every time.

As for the rest of Eenie Meenie news, our next release is scheduled for 5/30, so it’s almost here! It’s almost here: Space Needle: Recordings 1994-1997 ! The remastering of influential 1990s band’s original tapes, along with rare 7″ and EP tracks, is bound to be your new favorite fetish property. Fuzzy, psychedelic, spacey, and hypnotic, the retrospective album represents the best of their two previous releases, Voyager and The Moray Eels Eat the Space Needle

Next up will be the anticipated new album from the truly amazing Goldenboy, entitledUnderneath the Radio! We will let you know as soon as we know more… And lastly, the innovative Seiko and Salome will be shakin’ it up at The Lava Lounge on Saturday, 5/20 (the night after Irving at The Echo – care to spend the whole weekend with us? We’d love to have you). Seiko and Salome goes on at 9pm with Meho Plaza to follow, so everyone should have a blast.

Thanks for checking in!
