Hello there. How have you been holding up in the heat? We’ve been sucking it up and working hard (well, okay, we do have air conditioning), to bring you some fun summer shows! Check out our line-up on the right there. (Right there.) See? Irving rocked the house last Friday at The Henry Fonda with the fabulous Rentals, (and gave away some badass collectors’ posters!), so now they are heading up north and east, just to broaden their horizons a bit. Again.
And so, hand in hand with Say Hi To Your Mom (but not in an inappropriate way or anything), they will hit up Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco on Friday July 28th and our own Echo on Saturday the 29th. Then it’s off to Brooklyn for the McCarren Park Pool Party with Of Montreal, Enon and Asobi Seksu! No kidding! It’s FREE and there will be games, food and a Slip-n-Slide, so grab your towel and beat the heat with some rockin’ bands and some good sense of community together-ness. You know, if you live there and all.
Oranger is taking off in August for a mini tour and we are psyched to say that L.A. is one of the stops. After Tokyo Gardens in Fresno on the 3rd, they’ll be making their way down to The Echo on the 4th, to rock out with The Gris Gris. So if you’re out by us, don’t miss it! An Oranger show is always a good time, what with the chunky guitar riffs, the crazy theremin and the fun-lovin’ guys behind it all. Then it’s back up to Visalia for Howie and Son’s on the 5th, before they settle in for a nice little residency at SF’s Hotel Utah.
And finally, it just ain’t summertime if Blue-Eyed Son ain’t breaking out of Venice and hitting another fine beach town like Santa Cruz. For a good bit of laid-back, acoustic pop, catch him there on July 21st or up in San Fran on the 23rd, also at Hotel Utah.
