Dimension Mixer was fun!

Monday, January 23rd, 2006

If you didn’t make it to the Dimension Mixer last Wednesday, you missed out on an awesome night of amazing music, compliments of Peanut Butter Wolf’s DJ skills and great performances by Esther Nelson and Anubian Nights. Then there was a screening of ‘Haack: King Of Techno’, of which you should seek out, Netflix or whatever you kids do to see movies. WATCH IT. Above is a still from said movie with Mr. Bruce Haack himself on The Mister Rogers Show. So you say you missed it? If you snooze you lose! But, fret not; you can still purchase the Dimension Mix in ourstore

Dimension Mix The Music of Bruce Haack & Esther Nelson

dmixwebA Benefit for Autism Charities
*An Evening with Dimension Mix*
8pm January 18th, 2006 @ Cinespace, Los Angeles

w/Anubian Lights, Peanut Butter Wolf, Esther Nelson,
Ross Harris and more!

Eenie Meenie Records presents Dimension Mixer: An Evening with Dimension Mix, a multi-media event celebrating the release of Dimension Mix. The evening will feature an introduction by Dimension Mix producer Ross Harris, audience participation activities with Esther Nelson, DJing by Peanut Butter Wolf, a musical performance by Anubian Lights, and a screening of “Haack: King of Techno.”

Dimension Mixer: An Evening with Dimension Mix celebrates a musical accomplishment seven years in the making. In 1998, Harris decided to produce a tribute album to the Dimension 5 Records for Children, a label created by Bruce Haack and Esther Nelson in the 1960s to educate and entertain children. After years of setbacks and detours, the album was finally released on August 23rd, 2005 with a tracklist full of both major label artists and obscure contributors alike (Beck, Stereolab, Eels, Money Marks, Oranger and more).

One of the founders of Dimension 5 Records, Esther Nelson, will be attending Dimension Mixer: An Evening with Dimension Mix and introducing some of the concepts and exercises that created the foundation of Dimension 5 Records. In addition to Nelson, Dimension Mix contributors Peanut Butter Wolf and Anubian Lights are scheduled to perform. The evening will close with a screening of, “Haack: King of Techno”, a documentary about Dimension 5 co-founder, Bruce Haack. Haack was a composer and pioneer in electronic music, dating back to the 50s. His ideas and innovations continue to reverberate throughout the music world thanks to the Dimension 5 catalog, “Haack: King of Techno,” and now, Dimension Mix.

Good Music for a Good Cause – Dimension Mix is proof that the good guy always wins in the end

Tuesday, August 30th, 2005

After one week on store shelves, Dimension Mix is taking the ears and hearts of Americans by storm. Dimension Mix is currently sitting at #48 on the CMJ Top 200, a nice courtside #21 on the Media Guide/CMJ Indie Top 100, and on the ever impenetrable commercial charts, a remarkable #30.

With such nice returns after only one week on the open market, you would expect us to be satisfied, right? Wrong. Not while there’s still a good fight to be fought. All proceeds from Dimension Mix sales go to Autism related charities (such as Cure Autism Now), and that’s why we’re determined to blabber on and on about the record ‘til our hands, feet, eyes, ears, noses and throats go numb. Wanna help? Call and request your favorite Dimension Mix track from your local radio station. A list of request line phone numbers is right here.

If someone you know hasn’t gotten their hands on a Dimension Mix CD yet, but is in need of a little love, send ‘em the Dimension Mix e-card. It makes a heck of digital bandage, replete with photos, music teasers and a 30 second interview with Producer Ross Harris.

If that someone needs more than a little love, go ahead and give them the Dimension Mix CD. You can find it at your local indie retailer, Tower Records, Borders, Best Buy and our online store

Look over there, it’s an Eenie Meenie band. And another one. And another.
So many Eenie Meenie artists are on the road this time of year, it’s impossible to tell you which ones to look out for. For a complete list of tour dates, check out our shows page. Or browse our quick guide, to help you match your tastes with the correct touring band:

Do you live on the West coast? Are you a sucker for saccharin melodies, Go-bots, go-go girls, and dance parties?

Catch PINE*am this week before they return to Japan.

Would you still be able to stand up after an evening of swilling beer with a pack of Hell’s Angels? Is your record collection a cross-section of everything from Steppenwolf to the Cars to Pinback?

Oranger will be in a town near you, along with the Posies and Deathray Davies (on select dates).

Do you live in California? Do you, like most Californians, believe that summer is a year-long affair that only just begins to hit its stride around Labor Day?

Blue-Eyed Son is taking his road show to all his favorite California haunts.

If you had to draw a chart describing a rock show, shouldn’t aspects like fun and chaos register proportionately with one another? Come to think of it, wouldn’t it be better if fun and chaos registered somewhere completely off the chart?

Troubled Hubble will be blowing through town for another round of rock, shenanigans and ballyhoo.

What if everything you felt about mid 90s indie rock, everything you ever heard about classic rock, and everything you ever hoped for in the future of rock disappeared in a ball of smoke? Where would you turn for guidance then?

Hockey Night will remind you why you turn the radio on in the first place, throughout September.

Internet kill the video star
Finally Ladies and Gentleman, you can view brand-spanking new music videos from PINE*am, Oranger, and Troubled Hubble on our downloads page. Let Eenie Meenie provide you with a little bit of virus-free computer fun. One can never be too careful these days.

Dimension Mix is a heavy-handed enforcer in fight against autism…You can be too
Proceeds from the sales of the Dimension Mix compilation will benefit Cure Autism Now and other autism related charities. With ranks of contributing artists having now swelled to 18 strong, the Dimension Mix record is shaping up to be a formidable opponent to Autism. Purchase Dimension Mix and join the good fight.

Autism is a developmental disorder that affects 1 in every 166 Americans. Forms of the disorder range from the relatively mild Asperger’s Syndrome, in which patients exhibit a ‘withdrawal’ from society, to severe forms of the disorder which can render patients unable to perform even the most basic life functions. As recently as one decade ago, many doctors believed that nothing could be done to cure autism. They couldn’t have been more wrong.

Research suggests that with the right help, doctors and scientists may soon find a cure to autism. And helping find a cure couldn’t be any easier. Each day and each dollar brings us closer to a cure. To make a difference, all you need to do is purchase and enjoy the new Dimension Mix album.

Now that was easy, wasn’t it?
