This past Friday had Oranger running around Los Angeles all day and night with an in store performance @ Amoeba and then a show at the Echo w/ The Warlocks. Much rock was had, and many beers were shared throughout the evening. New Comes And Goes is the bands newest album and is in stores this very moment. Oranger are currently replacing all the strings on their guitars and then mapping out a Spring tour so be sure to check them out if they roll through your city!
I Want To Love Irving In My Room
Saturday, February 4th Irving have a show with Of Montreal @ The Ex Plex, which is like the older brother version of The Echo and is located below it as well. You can buy tickets right here. The band is prepping for it’s first national tour to support the upcoming release of their fantastic new album, which if you didn’t know, is titled Death In The Garden Blood On The Flowers and it drops April 4th. We’ll be letting you hear some of the record soon, just be patient. It’s worth it. Trust us.

Oranger busy tapping into gaming matrix
Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005Oranger pulls their britches on one leg at a time, just like everyone else, but when them britches is on, they’re dropping sick video game hits. The band’s rendition of ‘Mr. Sandman’ for theStubbs the Zombie video game soundtrack is a tour de force, the stuff legends and dreams are made of, a coup d’etat, a man of la mancha, a shutout, the grand mal, grand master, and grandmaster flash of all video game-inspired jams. Right up there on the gym wall, next to the retired jerseys of Bette Midler and Joe Cocker for their tear-jerking and tragic cover of the Frogger video game theme.
And what does a job well done translate into amongst gamers? Either a chance to enter your three letter obscenities into the high score column, or the opportunity to rock the house at the G.A.M.E.convention in San Francisco on December 4th. But be sure to peel yourself away from the Warriors on your X-box 360 and check out Oranger.
While you’re at it, keep your schedule clear for Oranger’s December 15th performance at the SF Indie List Xmas Party at 12 Galaxies Theater in San Francisco.

Hockey Night does their business all over Europe
After a few successful weeks in the EU, Hockey Night will soon be homeward bound. The band is lapping up the final bend in Germany and will be back in the great warm North for a few shows in early December. Domestic fans are advised to grab a little nip of their favorite fire-belly, step out into the cold, and head out to the shows.
Dimension Mix intends to do its business next
Now we’re not naming any names around here, but it looks like the Dimension Mix has every intention to be released on a European label soon. A little look at how European listeners will respond: Rivierans in velour Gucci jumpers will snap their fingers dangerously high above their heads to ‘I’m Bruce’ in Monaco; after far too long of a discussion, burnt-out coffeehouse dwellers in Amsterdam will determine that Bruce Haack’s lyrics are actually ‘spherical and a little bit yellow’; the kids will go as crazy for Dimension Mix across Europe as they have in the United States’proof once again that Bruce Haack was only about, say, forty years ahead of his time.
Rogues and Troubadours and Irvings
Rogue Wave will join Irving for a little holiday toast at the Troubadour, December 20th. This is a perfect opportunity to take out your old friends who are home for the holidays and show them just how much cooler you’ve become. It’s also a damn good pairing of bands, and when you consider all the cool new Irving shirts for sale, it’s the perfect one-stop shop for all of your holiday needs.

Old Habits Are Hard To Break: Old Blue-Eyed Is Back
Friday, November 4th, 2005Tonight, keep an azure eye peeled for Blue-Eyed Son. Drew’ll be rolling in to Abbot’s Habit in Venice on a steel string with a six horse on his back. Or something like that. He’ll be back there again on November 18th, and in between you can catch him at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood on the 10th. That’s good food, drink and music for those of you who can count. If you warm Drew up real nice-like with some sweet-as-puddin’ applause, he just might drop an El Debarge or Cameo bomb on you. Or if you’re extra, extra nice, he’ll run through all of West of Lincoln, head to toe…Japanese import version with bonus tracks and all.
International Ambassadors in the Sport of Hockey
Hockey Night runs a few warm-ups today and tonight in the Twin Cities and then it’s off to Europe for a stint with Clap your Hands Say Yeah and Supersystem. You can bet the band will be moving units and units of Keep Guessin vinyl, along with units and units of that liquid stuff found across Europe that just makes you feel so darn funny. Check out the complete tour dates.
If airline prices are keeping you down and away from Europe, catch a couple of Hockey Night videos until the fellas return. There’s even a video shot somewhere south of the equator, where the Earth’s reverse polarity causes all records to spin counter-clockwise. Weird.
Where Can You Find More Oranger? Where Can’t You?
Many score past your fiftieth spin of Oranger’s New Comes and Goes, you’re probably starting to think to yourself, ‘How could I possibly wrap my ears around some new Oranger tracks?’ In the true spirit of selflessness that we here at Eenie Meenie often exhibit around the holidays, we’re going to tell you:
-The Dimension Mix features interstellar covers of Bruce Haack’s Dimension Five recordings, including Oranger’s ‘Catfish.’
-The Stubbs the Zombie Soundtrackis great listening for the World Heavyweight Xboxing Champ of the undead in all of us. It also includes ‘Mr. Sandman,’ a little goodnight kiss of Oranger love.
-AND Oranger’s original score to Vertov’s Man With A Movie Camera is receiving a final round of rivets to secure the wings before shipping off to Jackpine Social Club for a 2006 release.
Irving Sightings Become More Frequent
We’re making no official announcements yet, but the lads from Irving have been seen in these parts more than once as of late. Strangely enough, they’ve been spotted hefting large bundles of sticks and what appears to be album artwork on their backs. And when all is quiet around here, it’s even possible to make out what sounds like new Irving tracks bumpin’ from their mini truxx. Or maybe that’s Jodeci.
How can winning be so Blue?
Thursday, October 27th, 2005Where can you find an autographed blue-eyed slab of wax, a couple of import only tracks, and a sweet little samba called Tropicalize II? In a little handful of Pacific we like to call the Blue-Eyed Son Prize Pack. Blue-Eyed Son’s Drew Heilprin is slowly wrapping up his onslaught of performances in the Los Angeles county area. After wearing his tires down to rubber flaps, and traversing as far as Pasadena, Long Beach, and Ventura, Drew ‘tha Go-Getta’ Heilprin brings it all back home for a couple of performances at his old breakfast haunt, Abbot’s Habit in Venice Beach, and the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood on November 10th, where we will be giving away free copies to the first ten guests. Europe claps its hands for the upcoming Hockey Night
The British are all up in applause for la musica rock in November. After a couple of rollicking warm-ups in the Twin Cities and pepper-mothed Northen England, Hockey Night joins Clap Your Hands Say Yeah for a week-long tour of Britain, taking them from the very seat of the Empire to the grand foot of the Highlands. The boys have been forewarned to drink plenty o’ beer, because the food will sure as shinola kill them.
Hockey Night then moves across the channel to Amsterdam and Germany for a spate of shows with Supersystem (formerly El Guapo). ‘The handsome’ and Hockey Night will most assuredly indulge in the fruits of their labors, which should include liters of liquids, meters of brats, and the sexy pair of lederhosen every now and again.
VJ Me VJ You
A man of many hats and much heart, producer, multi-media artist, video director, and musician Ross Harris of DJ Me DJ You gets mad props for his recent video foray in conjunction with theDimension Mix. Harris’ video for The Stones Throw Singers’ Dimension Mix track, “Rain of Earth,” is a spirited and affectionate cross-breeding of The Fisher King, Bubblicious and a carnival funhouse. But unlike most e-ticket rides, this one’s well worth the price of admission. Check it out jout.

Monday, September 19th, 2005“New Comes and Goes” hits stores today. And that’s a pretty good reason to celebrate. So celebrate we will—in the spirit of Oranger.
Hold your figurative and literal mugs up high, jump around with your clothes on backwards like Kris Kross, take a little time to talk to a neighborhood crossing guard or police officer, hang your head out of a Cutlass window a scream “I’m on top of the world,” mark the September 20th box of your puppy or kitten calendar with hearts. Do whatever it is you normally do, just do it Oranger.

A Handful of Midwestern Boys and Jules Verne Lookout over the Big Apple
Troubled Hubble is trawling across the United States all month long in an eight-cylinder leviathan dubbed the “Jules Verne.” They’ll be meeting up with fellow midwesterners, Hockey Night at the Lookout! Records CMJ showcase on Thursday, September 15th, at Rothko in NYC.
We are presently contacting Hockey Night to also determine the name of the shifty dirigible that has been hefting them across the States off and on for the past six weeks. After having traveled around the nation in sixty days, the band will wrap up at le gran dame of tours in the beginning of October.

We would like to express our condolences to all people who have been affected. The American Red Cross is staging a massive relief effort for victims of Hurricane Katrina. They sure could use your time, your donations, your help.
When the waters recede, the rebuilding will begin. Habit for Humanity will be on the ground, hammers in hand, to rebuild the Gulf Coast. They will need your help.
If you have a house, room, or a spare bed you can share, there are thousands of displaced people who sure could use it right now. Hurricane Housing, a service of MoveOn.org, is coordinating housing relief for hurricane evacuees.
Maybe you don’t have an extra bed to share. Why not share your own bed—with a lovable pet. If you want to consider adopting a furry, cuddly hurricane victim, contact the Humane Society.

PINE*am completes another successful North American jaunt
It�s all in a few weeks work for these international pop stars.
