This Saturday, November 14th, Great Northern will headline the Hollywood Brewfest, which will be featuring over 35 breweries. Other bands performing include Dum Dum Girls, Deadly Syndrome, Castledoor, Nico Stai, The Diamond Light, and The Tender Box. Hollywood Brewfest takes place at the Henry Fonda Theater.

Producer / remix master extraordinaire Eric Frederic, he of the Das Racist “Combination Pizza Hut & Taco Bell” remix fame and the hot new Wallpaper. concept album ‘Doodoo Face’, is back with a new series of jams entitled “SiSTRS from different MiSTERS” with a new remix being released every two weeks. Debuting exclusively at Stereogum last week, Wallpaper.‘s mindblowing mash up of Fool’s Gold + Mariah Carey “seamlessly substitutes Mariah Carey’s “Emotions” melisma for Luke Top and Lewis Pesacov’s Hebrew-and-horns incantations.” Death + Taxes Magazine called the mashup, “Mashup of the Century.”

“When I first heard “Surprise Hotel,” I felt all these little thought bubbles effervescing in my brain. There is a lot to take in, on a musical level. The original vocal coats this exuberant track with a calm, peaceful beauty. So I started combing the universe for a vocal that seemed as wilin’ out as those guitar parts and roughly the same tempo and / or key. Turns out Mariah Carey’s “Emotions” is already in the exact same key (the relative minor) and dances atop the rhythm section like it was born to. This is the first segment of SiSTRS from different MiSTRS.”

Sterling Andrews, the photographer behind Gooseberries, will be participating at this year’s Eagle Rock Music Festival. The Gooseberries booth will be located in the Oinkster parking lot. Painting, video, and photography combine in this one-of-a-kind interactive photo booth. Pitchfork, MTV, Idolator, The Village Voice, the Web Soup guy, and Perez Hilton have all been talking about things the duo are doing. Celebrating our 10th Anniversary, Eenie Meenie Records is announcing a huge anniversary saleon majority of it’s catalog. Almost all albums (CDs and LPs) are $3 or 4 for $10. This sale is not for slackers, as it’s only lasting 10 days (will end on June 26).
Eenie Meenie Records was founded in 1999 by Ms. Reiko Kondo in order to promote indie pop, rock, dance/electronica and singer songwriters. Their artists have regularly charted on CMJ and have received adds and been placed in rotation on AAA and commercial radio stations, such as KROQ, KCRW, KEXP in Seattle and Indie 103.1 in Los Angeles.
